If money moved or account details were shared: contact your bank or payment provider immediately. In India, call 1930 and report at cybercrime.gov.in.
1. Close the page
Do not enter more information, approve a notification, or download anything else. Close the browser tab or app.
2. Disconnect if something downloaded
If a file or app started downloading, disconnect the device from Wi-Fi and mobile data. Do not open the file.
3. Secure affected accounts
Using a trusted device, change the password for any account whose details you entered. Turn on two-step verification and sign out of other sessions where available.
4. Call your bank using a trusted number
Use the number on the back of your bank card, inside the bank's official app, or on its official website found independently. Do not use a phone number from the suspicious message.
5. Check the device
Review installed apps and browser downloads. If you installed an unknown app or granted screen-sharing or accessibility permissions, remove its access and seek trusted technical help.
6. Save evidence and report it
Keep screenshots, transaction references, phone numbers, and links. Do not keep interacting with the scammer to collect more evidence.
